Getting the Most from Your Digital Camera (3 sessions)
This workshop is for those who have made the decision to buy a digital camera and want to learn how to use it. Learn when to use a flash, the differences between menus and function keys, and how to operate them. Learn about the cameras and the many options or modes, including auto, portrait, landscape, etc., and when to use them. Set the camera, take pictures, then learn to upload them into the computer using either the designated cord or a card reader. Set up a folder and put the pictures into it. Edit and save them so they can be used with other programs. Burn the pictures to a CD. Scan, edit, resize for email, print and save a photo. Students MUST bring camera, camera cord, manuals, charged batteries, or extra batteries and the software that came with the camera.

Digital Photography...Intermediate (8 sessions)
Learn why different settings in your digital camera help you capture your surrounding environment. This course takes you beyond the basic menus and functions of your camera andhelps you understand the correlation between these settings and your own reality. Learn to take advantage of the digital eye and enhance the success of your photos. This class covers both the indoor, outdoor, and studio environments as well as portraiture, documentation, and action shots. Studenst MUST bring a digital camera, the manual, fully charged batteries and/or extra batteries to last for the two hour session, and a notebook. It is recommended to have a tripod and protective camera bag that fits the camera.

Photo Editing: The Beginning (3 sessions)
These sessions are for the beginning photo editing student who wishes to learn Adobe Photoshop Elements. Using Photo Elements 5.0, this semi-structured class begins by having students work on a picture provided by the instructor. Then learn to import your own photos into Photoshop from a CD, memory card, flash drive or a computer file, and how to organize them. Learn the Photo Elements features, including quick fix, the spot healing brush, the clone tool, and smart fix. Crop and adjust tone and color, create and manipulate text, convert color photos to black and white or sepia. Learn how to create a panoramic picture, printing tricks, and how to save your work so it can be used in other programs. Students with PhotoShop Elements 3.0 or 4.0 at home are welcome.

Everyone loves to scrapbook and now it can be done digitally. No paper cutting, crimping, shaping, or pasting. Fingers don't get sticky. Learn how to scan and edit your photos. Create backgrounds and add photos that give a special touch to scrapbook pages. Make calendars, newsletters, greeting cards, and more. Commemorate special occasions, births, school days, graduation, weddings, birthdays, and holidays. Learn to save and print your creations. Learn about the programs on the market that are used for digital scrapbooking and making photo creations from simple to high tech.
